CHALLENGE
Design an innovative solution to simplify the process of selecting and arranging floral designs for events or personal use.
SOLUTION
The floral arrangement planner app that is designed to revolutionize the way users visualize and plan their floral designs. It enables users to digitally create, customize, and preview floral arrangements before they are physically arranged by florists, providing a virtual platform for experimenting with different flowers, colors, and compositions.

Primary Research
I conducted user survey and interview to received feedback from users that I incorporated into user personas. A primary user group identified through research was individuals who enjoy arranging flowers at home or for special occasions and may be interested in using digital tools to enhance their floral design skills. A secondary user group was florists have difficulty following their customers' wishes.
Through a user survey, I gained more knowledge on how customers currently use a variety of products, services, or behaviors to attempt to customize floral arrangements for special occasions.

User interviews provided me with insights into the experiences, preferences, desires, and pain points of my target audience groups regarding arranging and sending flowers.

Insights
I distilled all of the information further into three prominent pain points that I saw emerging:
-
Limited options: Users may find it challenging to find floral arrangements that meet their specific preferences and requirements, leading to frustration and dissatisfaction with available options.
-
Communication barriers: Users may experience difficulties in effectively communicating their design preferences and expectations to florists, resulting in misunderstandings and disappointment with the final arrangements.
-
Uncertainty: Users may feel uncertain about how selected flowers and arrangements will look together in reality, leading to hesitation to make decisions or place orders without a clear visualization of the final product.
Secondary Research
Then, I began researching online to understand others' experiences and opinions regarding their negative encounters with arranging their bouquets either through a website or with a florist. This step provided valuable insights into common pain points and frustrations within the industry.

I also conducted a competitive analysis to understand the current market in the industry. In order to enhance my understanding of the floral arrangement experience and take a broader view of the mobility market, I analyzed not only the primary competitors but also researched mobility services to identify specific features and strengths and weaknesses that will help me design and enhance the app experience.

User Persona
After analyzing user interviews and identifying user groups, I created 2 personas to get a sense of who the user is and what drives them. The goal is to create a realistic representation of users who I can empathize with as I think about the design solutions they might need.

User Journey
I drafted a user map to visualize the stages of user engagement. This delineates each phase of users using the app from start to finish and allows me to visualize design opportunities on a step-by-step basis.

How Might We (HMW)
I also used the HMW method to reframe and open up my problem statements for efficient, targeted and innovative ideation sessions to help solve design challenges.

User Flow
First, I have to consider the entire journey that users might take in order to get what they need from the product. I anticipated user needs when interacting with my application by creating a user flow. It helped me visualize how users will move through the app.

Sketches
Taking the time to draft iterations of each screen of the app on paper ensured that elements that made it to digital wireframes would be well-suited to address user pain points.

Low-Fidelity Prototype
Then I created the low-fidelity prototype connected the primary user flow of tracking and analyzing users' sleep.

UI Design
Incorporating a lavender and yellow color scheme into the UI design is chosen to evoke feelings of calmness, joy, and freshness, mirroring the beauty of flowers. Minimalistic icons are employed to enhance usability and maintain a clean aesthetic.

FINAL DESIGN
The final design captures the essence of elegance and simplicity. The design showcases vibrant imagery, allowing users to immerse themselves in the world of flowers, while intuitive navigation ensures a seamless shopping experience.
